Primary Health Care Strategic Framework †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Primary Health Care Strategic Framework. Answer: Introduction Australia's widespread medicinal services framework is under a significant pressure. Numerous professionals of the healthcare, policymakers, and government authorities share the view that despite the fact that the care related quality is high, the healthcare spending of the nation is unsustainable and is hence found to be a deplete on the economy. Another alternative can be proposed one that sees the industry of healthcare as a significant contributor of the economy through employment, exports, GDP and innovation (Chaar, 2014). Australia can possibly offer its telemedicine and other other services abroad related to telehealth, capturing a market share of the growing medical tourism, and putting resources within the healthcare institutions and other foreign hospitals. In this report, we look at the healthcare industry of Australia and make an identification of the opportunities while competing in the global space of the healthcare by attracting foreign investment, maximizing the pote ntial for export, commercializing the public schemes and talent within the private sector (DALTON-BROWN, 2016). Our proposals for a way forward for Australia may likewise have application for different nations where the healthcare framework is strong that are confronting challenges which are quite similar. Contrasted with the health framework of other countries, the healthcare framework of Australia along with its outcomes rank exceedingly. Australia positioned 6th within the world during 2014 as far as the efficiency of healthcare is concerned, and was found to be at a rank of seventh in life expectancy. It reliably positions at the highest point of the Better Life Index of the OECD i.e. organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which measures the way natives see their social, mental and physical well-being. The excellent healthcare framework and high standard of living of Australia convey many advantages to most of the populace, including a more extended life expectancy (Day, 2008). Government information assesses that by 2055, the life expectancy on an average will be 96.6 years for women and 95.1 years for men. The nation additionally has low baby mortality, with the quantity of newborn child deaths tumbling from 1,264 in 2002 to 1,094 in 2013. Despite the fact that Au stralians are relied upon to stay dynamic longer because of better health, a considerably more established populace will unavoidably put more demand on the framework of health. An altogether more older populace will endure more incessant ailment and degenerative illnesses, and require longer healing facility stays and more follow-up care (Duckett, 2008). The figures of private healthcare alone demonstrate that clients having an age of 60 to 79 are the group that gets the biggest payout of benefits from the hospital. With the retirement of the older Australians, there will be a shrink in the labor force. This will result in a less tax revenue to pay for the services related to health the greying populace will require. Indeed, even with the current plan of the government for increasing the retirement age to 70, the participation labor of Australia is anticipated to keep on falling (Dunphy, 2013). It is nothing unexpected then that the policy makers of Australia have been on discovering approaches for Australia to keep offering a world-class medicinal services framework even with these difficulties. Generally speaking, the present view is negative, with economists and policymakers regularly alluding to the medicinal services framework as a burden to government and society, and human services spending seen as monetarily unsustainable (Frueh, 2015). We propose a significant alternative one that sees Australia's human services spend as a significant opportunity (Naccarella, Buchan, Newton, Brooks, 2011). With the careful management and right policy direction, the Australian human services framework could be a noteworthy supporter of the nation's economy. The division is as of now one of the nation's biggest suppliers of employment, and the fifth biggest supporter of Australia's GDP. We trust that it could contribute considerably more to the economy by drawing in foreign talent and investment, particularly in the RD region, and by sending out the human services benefits in which it as of now exceeds expectations, for example, telemedicine, alongside the skill of its exclusive standard private and public hospitals (Naccarella, Buchan, Newton, Brooks, 2011). Opportunities for Economic Growth There is a significant chance for the healthcare segment of Australia to end up plainly a noteworthy export industry and make a positive commitment to the economy, to the degree that it could help make up for the current and sudden decrease in the sector of mining. In accordance with this, the business gave the Australian economy a gigantic ride from 2005 until the most recent few years, yet it has mellowed as China's hunger for framework ventures decreases, and costs of coal and iron mineral fall over the globe (Perkins, 2013). Presently, with the fading of mining boom, Australia should discover elective export enterprises on the off chance that it needs to keep up its monetary and economic quality. And giving an exclusive care related standard to its kin, the Australian medicinal services segment is one of the nation's most noteworthy performing parts monetarily. Medicinal services are developing at twofold the pace of Australia's GDP. Contrasted and its provincial and worldwide pe ers, Australia positions in the main three as far as its privatepublic organizations, balanced private health spending per capita, and its capacity to draw in abroad medicinal services ability to live and work in the nation (Rajagopalan, Elkadi, 2014). We accept there are likewise various opportunities for both private and government healthcare to cooperate so that the medicinal services framework keeps on serving the Australian overall population and be a solid supporter of the nation's economy. To get this going, the private and public sector players in Australian human services need to consider their parts in the framework, especially by tending to the accompanying questions: What sort of strategy changes could help the Australian government decrease superfluous spending, arranging for financing to support possibly solid areas like RD? How can private and government industry cooperate to follow in the strides of the highly successful education and finance service exports of Australia and possibly help fill a portion of the left gaps by a softening sector of resources (Russell, Dawda, 2014)? What role can Australian media communications organizations play in creating telehealthcare a territory where Australia as of now has created solid capacities? How ought to the Australian government guarantee that it can keep on funding its maturing populace's human services or healthcare? We see various ways that the private industry and government can give world-class human services to Australians, in the meantime boosting the nation's exports related to the healthcare and playing a pivotal role to stimulate the local economy. The techniques for fortifying the medicinal services framework would rotate around the three principle interfaces in the value chain of healthcare. The three imperative links are insurers, suppliers and care providers. Care Providers: Tourism, Technology, and Overseas Expansion Lately, the education sector of Australia has had tremendous monetary accomplishment in accordance with the leveraging of the capacity of public sector to serve trade/export markets. Education is currently one of the largest exports of Australia that contributes 4.5% of the nation's GDP in 2013. We trust that there are opportunities for the sector of healthcare to take after the lead of education (Rajagopalan, Elkadi, 2014). Truth be told, there are found to be three clear parallels between the way education has leveraged public sector opportunities and capacity in healthcare industry of Australia. Progresses in innovation and technology have made remote and distance in a practical and well known approach to think about. The quantity of remote students enlisted at Australian universities has risen rapidly over the most recent five years from 211,000 in 2009 to 302,000 in 2013. Furthermore, Australia's real telecom, Telstra, has kept on putting resources into its telehealth administrations. The organization as of now offers some of these services and is set to join forces with governments crosswise over purview (Naccarella, Buchan, Newton, Brooks, 2011). Telstra has likewise made acquisitions and joined forces with local and abroad organizations, for example, red IT, Medgate, HealthEngine, HealthConnex, and Verdi to manufacture its telehealth abilities. On top of having broad involvement in telemedicine, Australia is likewise home to a substantial number of specialists trained internationally(Chaar, 2014). The providers of care could use these specialists' comprehension of their nation of origin's way of life and their dialect abilities to assist convey telemedicine and telediagnostics to seaward goals. Australia is remarkably situated given now is the right time zone to give night peruses to the Europe, Africa, Middle East and United States. Truth be told, this is going on in teleradiology, with Australia giving night peruses to the U.S. and additionally, European Union markets. In any case, various elements hinder telemedicine turning into a feasible source of current export revenue. These incorporate professional repayment and licensure laws, and concerns around legitimate obligation, care related quality, and patient security (Chaar, 2014). There is, moreover, a constrained specialists' pool for the providers of care to draw for m. Australias Healthcare Trade with China The healthcare providers have a colossal opportunity for growth of revenue through trade with China. The biggest trading partner of Australia is additionally rapidly getting to be noticeably one of the world's greatest markets for healthcare. This is powered by various components, including the development of China's GDP, the ascent of its white collar class, and the expanding interest for better access to quality health among its populace. Like Australia, China has a quickly maturing populace projections show around 480 million residents older than 60 by 2050 and it likewise confronts comparative difficulties on the ascent of perpetual ailments, for example, diabetes. There are different variables that make China an appealing goal for human services investment. The nation offers low working expenses to business, and its laws related to IP protection, once exceptionally feeble, are beginning to move forward (DALTON-BROWN, 2016). The Chinese government supports development and RD and is quick to give better access to quality human services given its significance to the Chinese individuals. The agencies are seeking to better understand how providing patient-level information to clinicians can improve quality. To this end, the agencies developed a draft national set of high-priority complications in 2014 and recently concluded a trial in four hospitals of this draft national set to assess whether it is clinically meaningful and useful, feasible to monitor and whether the complications are appropriately captured within administrative data sets. The findings of this study will be available later in 2015. The Joint Working Party established a sub?committee in late 2014 to investigate potential approaches to best?practice pricing, with an initial focus on the management of fractured patients (Duckett, 2008). Under a best-practice pricing approach, prices are determined based on the health care provider delivering a best-practice standard of care to patients. This approach has the potential to incentivise best-practice care and, if implemented, augments the current ABF approa ch where prices are based on the average cost of care (Frueh, 2015). The Commonwealth, Western Australia and South Australia supported in-principle the introduction of a best-practice price, provided there is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that it will deliver improvements in patient outcomes. Although Queensland has implemented state-based pricing for quality for fractured neck of femur, Queensland opposes a national approach for pricing quality arguing that clinical and performance management is the responsibility of jurisdictions as the system managers. Tasmania stated its opposition on similar grounds. National Efficient Cost Through the Pricing Framework 2015-16 IHPA introduced revised low volume thresholds to determine whether a public hospital is eligible to receive block funding. IHPA considered the underlying data to be sufficiently robust to include all activity in the low volume thresholds and not just the admitted acute activity. In NEC15 IHPA also introduced a new statistical methodology for calculating a small rural block funded hospitals efficient cost based on hospital size, location and type (Duckett, 2008). These refinements to the NEC model were broadly supported by stakeholders and have improved the models stability and predictability within and between hospital groupings, as well as across years, and will lead to greater accuracy in determining hospital eligibility for block funding from year to year. IHPA has evaluated the impact of the Modified Monash Model remoteness classification on the NEC model and determined that it would not deliver a clear improvement to identifying costs associ ated with hospital remoteness in the block funding model and may have the unintended consequence of disadvantaging small rural hospitals in outer regional areas. IHPA is not proposing any major changes for NEC16, given the significant methodological improvements made to the block funding model in NEC15. In 2016, IHPA will continue to work with states and territories to improve the reporting of expenditure and activity data for small hospitals, and undertake further research to better understand the cost drivers of small hospital services. Bundled Pricing Options Queensland, South Australia and Medtronic regarded services or patient episodes of care as amenable to bundled pricing if they are high volume, clinically homogenous and with highly predictable care pathways. New South Wales, Medtronic, Maternity Choices Australia, the QNU, Womens Healthcare Australasia and Childrens Healthcare Australasia supported IHPA further investigating the feasibility of bundled pricing for uncomplicated maternity care on the basis that it has an easily definable starting point and end point across all patients (Duckett, 2008). The QNU added that bundled pricing for uncomplicated and complicated maternity care may incentivise midwife-centred continuity of care models which are associated with significant reductions in interventions such as epidurals, episiotomies and instrumental births. New South Wales, the QNU and The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) supported IHPA further investigating the feasibility of bundled pricing for stroke care. These stakeholders as well as Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, the ASC, the NSF and Medtronic stated that this work must consider appropriate stratification for patient severity and complexity (for example ischaemic or haemorrhage). New South Wales, the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, Medtronic, and the QNU supported investigating the feasibility of bundled pricing for elective joint replacement as it is high volume and the care provided has predictable outcomes for patients. The Northern Territory and the RACP advocated exploring the benefits of applying a bundled pricing approach for patients at risk, or in the early stages, of chronic disease as it could lead to potentially significant cost savings to the health system if bundled pricing incentivises alternative models of care which lead to better patient outcomes. Silver Chain recommended that IHPA consider bundled pricing for end of life care, specifically the last 90 days of life. Silver Chain noted research by the Grattan Institute that between 60 and 70 per cent of Australians would prefer to die at home, but the majority die in hospitals (54 per cent) or residential care (32 per cent) (Chaar, 2014). A bundled price could provide system managers with the financial flexibility to pursue alternative models of care, such as community based palliative care which reduces cost whilst improving the quality of patient care. Conclusion Contrasted with the health framework of other countries, the healthcare framework of Australia along with its outcomes rank exceedingly (Chaar, 2014). Australia positioned 6th within the world during 2014 as far as the efficiency of healthcare is concerned, and was found to be at a rank of seventh in life expectancy. It reliably positions at the highest point of the Better Life Index of the OECD i.e. organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which measures the way natives see their social, mental and physical well-being References Chaar, B. Oedipus Rex By Sophocles Essays - Operas, Oedipus, Jocasta, Creon

Oedipus Rex By Sophocles In Sophocles's play "Oedipus Rex" Oedipus Even though "fate" seems to determine Oedipus' life, . he does infact have a free will. His choices brought the prophecy to life. Only his decisions (not influenced by anybody) he made. Of course those decisions were in side of the limits set by fate. When Oedipus heard a prophesy that his going to kill his father and sleep with his mother he ran away, even when he new there were suspicions of him being the real son of his parents. There some lines from the play: "...There was a man dining with us one day who had too much wine and man shouted at me-half drunk and shouting that I was not rightly called my father's son. ... Without my parent's knowledge, I went to Delphi, but Apollo did not say what I had gone to hear. Instead, he answered questions I had not asked and told of horror and misery beyond believe - how I would know my mothers bad ... and cause the death of my own father." The prophecy drove the Oedipus away from home; the terror of the predictions was too much to live with. Oedipus tried everything not to meet the prophecy, and still when he came to Thebes and became a king Oedipus married an older lady. It was his choice, even when he knew there was a danger of him to know mothers bad, he made it. Oedipus' quest for truth was his choice. When the Teiresias tried not to reveal the truth, The Oedipus was the one, who made the priest to talk: "This city gave you life and yet you refuse to answer! You speak as if you were her enemy. ... For God's sake, if you know, don't turn away from us! We are pleading. We are begging you. ... You will not tell? You monster! You could stir the stones of earth to a burning rage! You will newer tell? What it will take?" As the truth is getting revealed: "... You, Oedipus, are the desecrator, the polluter of this land." Oedipus does not believe (his choice). He (Oedipus) start to accuse Creon of truing to take his powers away (king). And still want to reveal whole truth. After talking to Jocasta Oedipus faces that he in fact might killed the king Laius. " There was s herald leading a carriage drawn by horses and the man riding in the carriage ... The driver pushed. In anger, I struck him. The old man saw it, reached for his lash and waited till I had passed. Then he struck me on the head. But he paid-oh yes he paid. ... I killed him. And again that was a choice, he (Oedipus) knew that he will kill his own father, even when he killed an old man he didn't thought of possibility, that the old man might be his father. Oedipus fate was determined before he was even born, and by trying t o overcome it, he actually perfectly filing in his position in life which is a prophesy. Oedipus thought that he oversmarted the Gods, but in fact every his move he made moved him closer to prophesy becoming a reality. Oedipus Essay (Fate) Sophocles "Oedipus the King" is a tragic play which discusses the tragic discovery of Oedipus that he has killed his father and married his mother. The story of Oedipus was well known to the athenian's. Oedipus is the embodiement of the perfect Athenian. He is self-confident, intelligent, and strong willed. Ironically these are the very traits which bring about his tragic discovery. Oedipus gained the rule of Thebes by answering the riddle of Sphinx. Sophocles used the riddle of the sphinx as a metaphor for the 3 phases of Oedipus' life and to futher characterized him as a tragic man. The Sphinx posed the following riddle to all who came to obtain the rule of thebes: "What is it that walks on 4 feet and 2 feet and 3 feet and has only one voice, when it walks on most feet it is the weakest?" Oedipus correctly answered "Man" and became the king of Thebes. This riddle is a metaphor for the life of Oedipus. As a child man crawls on his hands and knees this is the four feet to which the Sphinx refers. Also man is at his weakest as a small child. He depends solely on others for his nourishment and well being. Oedipus was

Yellowstone National Park Geography and Overview

Yellowstone National Park Geography and Overview Yellowstone is the United States first national park. It was established on March 1, 1872  , by President Ulysses S. Grant. Yellowstone is mainly located in the state of Wyoming, but it also extends into Montana and a small part of Idaho. It covers an area of 3,472 square miles (8,987 sq km) that is made up of various geothermal features like geysers, as well as mountains, lakes, canyons, and rivers. The Yellowstone area also features many different types of plants and animals.   History of Yellowstone National Park The history of humans in Yellowstone dates back to around 11,000 years ago when Native Americans began to hunt and fish in the region. It is believed that these early humans were a part of the Clovis culture and used the obsidian in the region to make their hunting weapons, mainly Clovis tips, and other tools.   Some of the first explorers to enter the Yellowstone region were Lewis and Clark in 1805. During their time spent in the area, they encountered several Native American tribes such as the Nez Perce, Crow, and Shoshone. In 1806, John Colter, who was a member of the Lewis and Clark expedition, left the group to join fur trappers - at which point he came across one of the parks geothermal areas.   In 1859 some early explorations of Yellowstone took place when Captain William Reynolds, a U.S. Army surveyor, began exploring the northern Rocky Mountains. Exploration of the Yellowstone area was then interrupted due to the beginning of the Civil War and did not officially resume until the 1860s. One of the first detailed, explorations of Yellowstone occurred in 1869 with the Cook-Folsom-Peterson Expedition. Shortly thereafter in 1870, the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition spent a month surveying the area, collecting different plants and animals and naming unique sites. Following that expedition, Cornelius Hedges, a writer, and lawyer from Montana who had been a part of the Washburn expedition suggested making the region a national park.   Although there was much action to protect Yellowstone in the early 1870s, serious attempts to make Yellowstone a national park did not occur until 1871 when geologist Ferdinand Hayden completed the Hayden Geological Survey of 1871. In that survey, Hayden gathered a complete report on Yellowstone. It was this report that finally convinced the United States Congress to make the region a national park before it was bought by a private landowner and taken away from the public. On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Act of Dedication and officially created Yellowstone National Park.   Since its founding, millions of tourists have visited Yellowstone. In addition, roads, several hotels like the Old Faithful Inn and visitor centers, such as the Heritage and Research Center, have been constructed within the parks boundaries. Recreational activities like snowshoeing, mountaineering, fishing, hiking, and camping are also popular tourist activities in Yellowstone. Yellowstones Geography and Climate 96% of Yellowstones land is within the state of Wyoming, while 3% is in Montana and 1% is in Idaho. Rivers and lakes make up 5% of the parks land area and the largest body of water in Yellowstone is Yellowstone Lake, which covers 87,040 acres and is up to 400 feet (120 m) deep. Yellowstone Lake has an elevation of 7,733 feet (2,357 m) which makes it the highest altitude lake in North America. The remainder of the park is mostly covered by forest and a small percentage of  grassland. Mountains and deep canyons also dominate much of Yellowstone. Because Yellowstone has variations in altitude, this determines the parks climate. Lower elevations are milder, but in general summers in Yellowstone average 70-80 °F (21-27 °C) with afternoon thunderstorms. Yellowstones winters are normally very cold with highs of just 0-20 °F (-20- -5 °C). Winter snow is common throughout the park. Geology of Yellowstone Yellowstone was initially made famous due to its unique geology caused by its location on the North American plate, which for millions of years has slowly moved across a mantle hotspot via plate tectonics. The Yellowstone Caldera is a volcanic system, the largest in North America, which has formed as a result of this hot spot and subsequent large volcanic eruptions. Geysers and hot springs are also common geologic features in Yellowstone which have formed due to the hotspot and geologic instability. Old Faithful is Yellowstones most famous geyser but there are 300 more geysers within the park. In addition to these geysers, Yellowstone commonly experiences small earthquakes, most of which are not felt by people. However, large earthquakes of magnitudes 6.0 and greater have struck the park. For example in 1959 a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit just outside the parks boundaries and caused geyser eruptions, landslides, extensive property damage and killed 28 people. Yellowstones Flora and Fauna In addition to its unique geography and geology, Yellowstone is also home to many different species of plants and animals. For example, there are 1,700 species of trees and plants native to the Yellowstone area. It is also home to many different species of fauna- many of which are considered megafaunas such as grizzly bears and bison. There are around 60 animal species in Yellowstone, some of which include the gray wolf, black bears, elk, moose, deer, bighorn sheep and mountain lions. Eighteen species of fish and 311 species of birds also live within Yellowstones boundaries. To learn more about Yellowstone visit the National Park Services Yellowstone page. Is the United Nations in need of reform and if so, in what form should Essay

Is the United Nations in need of reform and if so, in what form should such reform take - Essay Example It comprises of 192 member countries across the globe, with its headquarters in New York. The existence of United Nations dates back to World War II with the objectives to unite all the countries of the universe in order to work in correlation with tranquility and harmony, which must consist on the ideology of fair dealing, respect of humanity, and fulfillment of the fundamental rights of the people2. United Nations aimed to bring the countries closer so that they can work in coordination to develop friendly relations and address the common issues with gravity. The working of the assembly is not restricted to the decisions of any monarch, thus, every county possess the same and equal rights to give their opinions and viewpoints in any discussion happening in the general assembly of the United Nations3. A global body formed in early 1900s, known to be the League of Nations was the key stakeholder to sustain equanimity and placidity in the world, as well as maintaining the coordination amongst the global community. This parent body proved to be flourishing with 58 members across the globe with the prime motive to encourage and endorse worldwide collaboration in order to bring the world under one roof through unity and peace. With the increasing power and control of the Axis Powers over the world, the League got an alarming sign and its success started to fade and declined slowly, thus, resulting in the Second World War. During the World War II, United Nations came to an existence with an official announcement in order to bring the counties in association to each other. Initially, the UN consisted of 51 member countries, which then rose to 192 members at a later stage4. United Nations came under development with a goal to alleviate poverty and raise the living standards of the masses on global basis. It also determined to raise the literacy rate and abate the spread of diseases and environmental degradation to make the world a better place to live. United Nations aimed to support and cushion the under developed countries to lift their economies, build up the social sector and back them to move ahead towards success5. To achieve these objectives, UN designed a set of values, which the member countries were to abide by. United Nations strictly abhorred the violence and tyranny, instead they promoted calm and diplomatic methods to solve the problems, and therefore, member countries came under expectation to settle down rivalries and sensitive matters with serenity. UN made an obligation on all the members to comply with the agreements made between them, and the parent body did not participate in any government activity or personal matter of the member state6. The working of UN depends upon five subdivisions. The first division is the UN General Assembly, whose prime job is to maintain the standards of its guidelines and procedures and always have a room for improvements through suggestions. The assembly has a president who comes under appointme nt from its member states. The second subdivision is the UN Security Council, which has the right to penalize the member countries if they do not follow the rules and regulations that comes under development by the assembly, they also have the decision making power during any sort of disagreements between the member states. Therefore, it comes under consideration as the strongest amongst all the other branches7. The third branch is the International Court of Justice, which is

In what ways does the newspaper media presentation of young black men Essay

In what ways does the newspaper media presentation of young black men affect the self perception of the young people themselves - Essay Example Similarly, the entertainment media have willingly received their prompt from the members of the press, and these inaccurate representations not merely shape race relations but also generate a self-fulfilling prophecy for young black males, whose limitations of achievement can be fixed for them by presentations in the media (Johnson, Adams, Hall, & Ashburn 1997). A widespread stereotype about young black males is that they take part in substance abuse in uneven numbers. Other widespread detrimental stereotypes portrayed in mass media involve the young black male as a drug addict and criminal; there is also a persistent depiction of the young black male intellectually inadequate (Larson 2005). An individual who carries the dishonour of group membership should be equipped for its incapacitating consequences. Studies suggest that young black males are aware that they are denounced as being cognitively inadequate and that they go to school carrying a ‘burden of suspicion’ (Larson 2005: 42), as it is referred to as by psychologist Claude Steele. Such a burden can influence their achievement, attitudes, and perception of their selves (Larson 2005). Likewise, studies discovered that when college men are admonished that their group is regarded inferior at math, their academic performance may realise this prophecy (Markowitz & Jones-Brow n 2000). These stereotypes stay with stigmatised individuals regardless of their accomplishments or status. They should remain vigilant and put up with an extra burden that may impinge on their self-esteem, ambitions, and performance. These stereotypes have the capability of depriving them of their individuality and weaken their efforts to escape from stigmatised roles (Markowitz & Jones-Brown 2000). Even though Black news journalists and principal characters have been steadily growing in number, the significant majority of decision makers in the media remain

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Assignment

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - Assignment Example The Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), are used by the accountants to record and report accounting information. The set of principles have been developed over the year by the accounting profession and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The laws that give the SEC that authority to establish, reporting and disclosure requirement, include the two laws which are: The Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. There are certain assumptions upon which the current set of principles operates (Cliff, 2013). These assumptions and the principles are normally considered to be GAAP and some of them are as discussed below: This assumes that each financial entity is to be maintained separately for each economic entity. The economic entities include social organizations which are together with schools, churches, districts, governments and businesses among others. This goes that, there are certain economic events that affect companies and are not easily quantified in monetary terms such as introducing a new product or hiring a new CEO. These then do not, most of the times, appear on the company’s records. Therefore, accounting records are required to be made through the use of a stable currency, for instance, the US uses dollars. This principle requires that, a full disclosure should be made on the financial statements of a company’s finances or assets pending lawsuit, incomplete transactions of a company, or any other important financial information about the company. In this case, footnotes should be used to supplement financial statements in order to convey such kind of information. This requires that, artificial time should be used to record and report the results of the activities of a business. This artificial time normally leads to questions on when certain transactions should be recorded. The accountants then use the GAAP to record and report the established accounting period of transaction. This principle

While provided employees to minimize risks in their personal lives, Nestle had always emphasize each of their employees about to change the employees attitudes towards personal safety. Environmental Analysis Nestle always committed to people to produce the best quality to their consumers. Besides that, Nestle also prevented the wasted food by reduced the materials weight and volume, yet supported initiatives of recycle from used packaging. Nestle have also use recycled materials to produce its products. But, Nestle had done a fact that will cause of the lost of the home for orangutan. According to Heidi Marshall (2010), Nestles product-Kit Kat is a product of environmental destruction. This is because of the material that used in the candy bars and for the other Nestle products as well was comes from a palm oil that get from by destroying Indonesia rainforests. The strategy that used by Nestle to actual impact of globalization are included: Market Penetration Strategy Market penetration strategy is which to refer to increase market share of the current products. A firm using this method by raises their sale revenue without any changing of their existing products. Nestle may try to use the promotion which is buy 1 free 1 for its products. For example, buy 2 packs of 1kg Milo free a 10 pack of instant Nescafe. A market penetration will also involve the 4ps which is products, price, promotion and place. According to (Stuart Wall; SonalMinocha and Bronwen Rees, 2010), the product in international marketing is the extent to which a standard and differentiated product should be provided. For example, Nestle is using the differentiated products since it produce its products Kit-Kat in different flavor. A Russian Kit-Kat is smaller than a Bulgarian, but less sweet than Germanys Kit-Kat. While in Japan, the strawberry Kit-Kat is all the rage. The international price is related to the account market different between countries, exchange rates, difficulties of voicing and collecting payment across borders, the effects of tariffs and purchase taxes on competitiveness, governmental regulations of the host country and the long term strategic plan of the company in the different markets in which it operates. For the promotion, it is often expressed to attracted people to consume their products and yet to capture a new consumer to purchasing their products. Nestle is always advertise their products thru media ways. To make sure that people know their products yet to pursuing people to make a purchase on their products. For example, Nestle advertise its products thru the television advertisement. This can make sure that children will attracted by its advertisement while it advertise. A place or distribution it is difficult to control from outside the overseas country itself. A company will solve this problem by its own subsidiary. In addition, if the products are being imported, a multinational company will recruit a local agent to ensure that there is safety, cheapest and quickest way is using. For example, Nestle might recruit a people that located outside of overseas of it country to solve the problem such as a warehouses, the selling markets and etc. SWOT Analysis of Nestle As Dr. Jill Novak, (2009) commented that: Strength Nestle is a global food producer since it located in over 100 countries. It is consistently one of the worlds largest producers which with global sales in 2008 topped $101 billion. In addition, Nestle was named one of Americas Most Admired Food Companies in Fortune magazine. Furthermore, Nestle provides quality brands and products and line extensions that are well-known, top-selling brands including: Maggi, Haagen Dazs, Kit Kat, Nescafe, CoffeeMate, prepared baby foods, yogurt, foods for infants and many more. Weakness Most of the products have their own weaknesses. For Nestle, it was not as successful as the other country in France. Nestle could not compete against a strong and established brand which is Dannon that entered into France earlier than Nestle which is top selling of health yogurt. Besides that, since 2004, Nestle has been forced to reduce the amount of sugar in their products that may cause of diabetes among American children. In addition, Nestle has been removed the packaging and advertising that false claims of heart healthy and lower cholesterol which is an order from FDA(Food and Drug Administration) and American Medical Association which is the under fire of the breakfast cereal industry. Opportunities In today, everyone hope and needs to have a healthy life, as a producer like Nestle, it has an opportunities to raise their selling profits with producing health-based products. Since Nestle was a well-known branded, for sure, it will be easy to attract people to purchase their products. Further, they launched a new premium line of cacao called Nestle Treasures Gold, in order to cash in on the recession economy in which consumers cut back on luxury goods, but regularly indulge in candy and chocolate. Americans want luxury chocolates, and high-end chocolate is immune to the recession (so far), because it is an inexpensive indulgence. Threats Even though Nestle was a big producer in the world, but it still has its competitor, such as Hersheys, Cadbury-Schweppes (owned by Pepsi), Kelloggs, Starbucks, , Quaker, Kraft Foods, Danone, , Heinz, Unilevel and many more. Furthermore, any contamination foods supply especially e.coli which causes the recalled of their brand-Toll House cookie dough. Outbreaks were linked to 28 states and the product had to be recalled globally. Nestlà © has yet to find out how this happened, and is still investigating (Dr. Jill Novak, (2009). Potential impacts of globalization on Nestle Nestle corporate have its own potential in globalization since it is a big foods producer in global. Technology In the world of today, technology will be changing rapidly in global. And this will leads a good improvement in all type of products that will be produce around the world. A research and development department will be a part of Nestle from today towards future achievement by gaining profits without wasting the raw material in manufacturing process. Besides that, by using a developed technology may reduce the effects that will occurs greenhouse effect. For example, use of plastics packaging in every single of Nestle products improve to recycled paper packaging, used of plastic bottle in filling the Nestle beverage into tin that can recycle use. On the others side, a case that occurs in India, which is Nestle chocolate, will be melted before its eyes. This is because there are lacks of distribution and the heat temperature in India will make the chocolate melted. By using the technology that can solve this problem that is using the technology to change its chocolate ingredients so that can afford India heat temperature. Environmental As the info below, Nestles Kit Kats was made from a palm oil that came from by destroying the rainforest in Indonesia. This is cause of the pollution in Indonesia. To solve this problem, Nestle corporate should consider using the palm oil from the other countries by not destroying the rainforest of the country. On the other side, there is another solution too. That is, refining the vegetables oil that can out inside the ingredient of making chocolate. Social As a food producer in global, Nestle may do some different in their products. Such as, a new flavor of the chocolate could be launch. This is because different country has a different taste towards foods. For Malaysia, a durian can be a part of the ingredient in the making of Kit-Kat. For Korea, a Kim chi flavor Kit-Kat can also create. This is a try for Nestle to attract people by producing different flavor but same products around the world. The strategy that might use by Nestle in the potential impacts on globalization is: Diversification strategy According to Stuart Wall;SonalMinocha and Bronwen Rees diversification strategy involve the company branching out into both new products and new markets. For example, from the info that I mention below, Nestle might create a different flavor of Kit-Kat to attracted new customer. For Malaysia, Nestle may create a durian flavor Kit-Kat to attracted those customer who are not chocolate lover but is a durian lover to purchase this products. Conclusion On the day Nestle was introduced, it was only food for infants. As time goes, Nestle has grown to be more famous in brand name and focus in widen its product line. Today, Nestle is one of the most famous and successful foods and drinks producer. Furthermore, Nestle had expands to globalization which consist of factories around the world. Besides that, Nestle will always try counter threats and competitor, such as the current products or new product entrants. Therefore, Nestle still has the potential to grow more and continue to be the one of the leader in the market share.

e. e. cummings Poem of Simplicity in Life Essay examples -- Poetry Po

e. e. cummings' Poem of Simplicity in Life This poem by e. e. cummings describes the link between age and happiness by relating the two with simplicity. With this simplicity, however, there is a break from reality, and there are consequences. We can only do what is natural for us. you shall above all things be glad and young by e. e. cummings you shall above all things be glad and young. For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad whatever's living will yourself become Girlboys may nothing more than boygirls need: i can entirely her only love whose any mystery makes every man's flesh put space on;and his mind take off time that you should ever think, may god forbid and(in his mercy)your true lover spare: for that way knowledge lies, the foetal grave called progress, and negation's dead undoom. I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance In reading the first line, it sounds as though the focus of life is being glad and young. This is because of how the first part of the sentence is worded. The word "shall" is more of a command than a suggestion. It says something will be done, not that something may happen. Furthermore, it's saying that you will do something. To say that someone else will do something lessens the meaning of the action. However, since you, the reader, are creating this action, you are obviously involved in the action more than if someone else was creating this action. So what is the author saying you will do? You will be "glad and young" before anything else. By saying that you will be "glad and young" before anything else puts an importance on these two actions because there is nothing, accordin... ...on's dead undoom" is a part that "his mind takes off time." Therefore, his mind forgets that refusal no longer has no punishment. This may not make a great deal of sense, but remember that the theme to this point has been finding happiness and simplicity. Perhaps, then, if refusal is saying no to the oblivion happiness brings, then he is again associated with the consequences of reality. This connects to the idea that god is mentioned as a reminder of reality and its consequences. What is the conclusion? What is the significance of learning versus teaching? You can only learn of happiness through experience, in other words, living. However, you cannot teach one how to seek happiness; it is innate, meaning it is a natural part of you. It is natural for "stars to dance" and "birds to sing," so how can you teach them otherwise? Seek happiness and you shall find it.

John Locke ideas Essay

How did ideas of Locke’s Social Contract influence the Declaration of Independence? John Locke’s ideas influenced the writing of the Declaration of Independence by the discussion of equal rights, purpose of the government, and what the people should do to an abusive government. Both in the Declaration of Independence and in the Social Contract John Locke, they list that men should have equal rights. Also they both state the purpose of having a government. Lastly, they say what the people should do if the government does not protect these rights. In the Social Contract by John Locke and in the Declaration of Independence they state that men have rights. In the Social Contract it says â€Å"Men have rights by their nature†¦ We give up our right to ourselves exact [revenge] for crimes in return for [nonjudgmental] justice backed by overwhelming force. We retain the right to life and liberty, and gain the right to just, impartial protection of our property. † Just as in the Declaration of Independence it says â€Å"We hold these truths to be [obvious], that all men are created equal, that they are [entitled] by their Creator with certain [mandatory] Rights, that among these Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. † Therefore the Declaration of Independence got the idea Life, Liberty, and pursuit happiness from the Social Contract. Another idea both the Social Contract and Declaration of Independence have in common is the purpose of the government. John Locke’s Social Contracts States â€Å". Society creates order and grants the state its [purpose]†¦ The only role of the state is to ensure that justice is seen to be done† Corresponding to what the Declaration of Independence states â€Å"That to [protect] these rights, Government are [created] [by] Men, [coming] [from] their [own] powers from the [permission] of the [people]. † These writings both mean that the government has a duty to protect the rights of the people. The last thing John Locke did to influence the Declaration of Independence is he created the idea of what the citizens should do to abusive governments. â€Å"If a ruler seeks absolute power, if the acts both as judge and participant in disputes, he puts himself in a state of ear with his subjects and we have the right and the duty to kill such rulers and their servants. † this was the idea in John Locke’s Social Contract. This is very similar to what the Declaration of Independence, which says â€Å"That whenever any Form of government becomes destructive of these [rights], it is the Right of the People to [change] or to [get] [rid] [of] [it], and to [create] [a] new Government†. Both of these mean that if the government does not protect the rights of the people, the people can overthrow the government. How did ideas of Locke’s Social Contract influence the Declaration of Independence? John Locke’s ideas influenced the writing of the Declaration of Independence by the discussion of equal rights, purpose of the government, and what the people should do to an abusive government Men have equal rights is both stated in John Locke’s Social Contract and in the Declaration of Independence. Also they share the purpose of what the government should do. Lastly, they share the responsibilities of what the people should do in a abusive government.

Avoiding the Four Main Failure Mechanisms of Small Business

Avoiding the Four Main Failure Mechanisms of Small Business Free Online Research Papers My partner and I have made the decision to open our very own partnership business. We have been working for S J Home Repairs for the past fifteen years. We have studied all aspects of the business together; bring S J Home Repairs to a well established and reputable business for the owner. One day we went to the boss with a suggestion of us becoming partners in the company, because we were the ones actually running our offer down. By this time Jack and I decided we can do these ourselves. One afternoon we sat down and worked out all the financial decisions and exactly what we both needed to bring to the table to get this done. Finally it hit us that, we are going to be our own bosses and there is no more set time, we have to motivate and organize everything ourselves. One of the decisions we made is to hirer three managers and twenty additional employees. The manager for the Queens region will get 6 employees to work with him, the manager for the Bronx will get 7 employees and Brooklyn the next 7 employees. Being good managers is the first step to achieving success in your business. â€Å"Today’s managers must be self-aware, observant, and understanding.† (AllBusiness.com). It is important to give praise to your star employees, not because they are good at what their do, doesn’t mean they do not want to hear their boss say, â€Å"good job† or â€Å"well done.† Another good way is to let them know exactly what the company’s goals are and think about other strategies that will include them. However, in business there is always that risk of failure, so you will want to devise a plan that will help avoid the four main failure mechanisms of small business which are: Managerial incompetence or inexperience Neglect Weak control systems Insufficient capital In order to avoid managerial incompetence or inexperience, business owners must find different ways to develop their management skills, don’t depend only on common sense. Being competent in this phase of the business is extremely important for the foundation of the business. These skills allow you to make better decisions on, dealing with emergencies, recruiting, purchasing, book keeping, marketing, training, planning etc. To avoid failure business owners need to identify the things that is needed to be accomplished, their need to ensure that they organize their resources; they need to pay close attention to the performance and the task completion (need to be will informed). Business owners also need to look ahead and make plans for any future requirements and try dealing with any problems that may arise. Avoiding neglect, business owners need to set aside devoted time for their business in order to succeed, especially in the starting up stages of the business. They need to pay attention to every detail of the business and its workers. Show your managers and employees that you are totally involved in the running of you business and that you need to be informed on any matter that relates to the business. Having a weak control system is also damaging to a business. Business owners need to an open communication between their employees and focus on growing the company profits before offering credit possibilities to it customers. Starting a business with the right amount of capital can also lead to a successful business. First you need to ensure that you have at least one year’s capital because most new business start seeing profits after the first 6 months of business. So for the business to succeed and start profiting business owners must try to avoid the things that can lead to failures for the business. Reference: AllBusiness.com 2007. (Home page). BHS 499 (Computer & Information Systems) Module 4 SLP Essay - 2

BHS 499 (Computer & Information Systems) Module 4 SLP - Essay Example faculty who can teach students seeking to enroll in nursing; most of the present nursing faculty members are aging (around 50- to 54 years of age); there is inadequate pool of younger faculty; the lack of emphasis or focus on teaching educational principles in line with the strict clinical, didactic and research curricula of majority of the masters and doctoral programs; faculties in nursing have ineffective and diluted role expectations which are aggravated by tremendous role-related stress; new faculty members, the desire to be successful in all facets of academe; there is lack of competitiveness in salaries related to the clinical sector; too few nursing faculty members are prepared for doctoral programs; there is high faculty workload, lack of qualified applicants and less faculty are willing teach clinical courses as well as to conduct research. Therefore, in relation to the above-mentioned nursing issues on the difficulty to recruit and retain nursing educators, the AANA Education Committee made some actions or interventions and integrated it in the strategic plans. The organization made some leadership changes which included some elements of faculty, administrative, financial, political as well as perception concerns. The team also conducted a web-based survey on CRNA faculty recruitment and retention in January 2006 in order to evaluate professional needs of nursing faculties, basis for a development workshops and other development programs. The results of the survey (Starnes-Ott & Kremer, 2007) revealed that if the needs of most faculty members will be ranked accordingly, there concern is much directed towards the need for assistance in order for them to prepare for the doctoral programs, an innovative instruction like distance learning and human patient simulation and development of the curriculum. The above findings are not very surprising, in fact, other researchers have sought the same information at different clinical and educational settings

7 Discussion Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

7 Discussion - Essay Example In this way the individual relies on his or her character. Philosophers such as Plato, Hume, Aristotle etc have discoursed on virtuous character yet there seem not to be an agreement on exactly what ought to be counted as virtuous behavior. According to this philosophers virtue can only be equated to knowledge thus one who has knowledge and especially so the knowledge of good is regarded to have virtuous character (McMurray, 2000). The fact the children are born with no sense whatsoever of right or wrong it is prudent to assert that this good judgment is acquired from the society. The child will be taught by society members a number of mannerisms deemed acceptable such as honesty, respect and live in harmony with the existing systems. Without the society and culture would mean that the child relies on instincts thus will only have to act in a way that is likely to be beneficial to him or her. The society has also ensured there is a way to reward virtuous behavior thus encouraging its members to be virtuous. There are many moral stories and the like which give examples of individuals that have prospered in the society as a result of being virtuous. In the same way others are encouraged to live a virtuous life such that they are able to benefit in a similar manner. It is not easy to live a virtuous life thus there is normally some obstacles one has to overcome. According to some of the virtue theorist, it is easy for human beings to practice vice especially when the society is reluctant to punish the behavior and encourage virtuous living. It is for this reason that there are laws of the land and the justice system to encourage the people to live in harmony with one another. Alternatively there are those opposed to this theory citing the fact that character is in born. There are times when one has to rely on his character to perform some acts which the society is opposed to.
